What do the crash of a Boeing 737 MAX and Russian trolls have to do with digital trust?
In his keynote, Dr. Koen De Maere will explain the importance of digital trust through past cases of ethical misconduct. To this end, he will explain the pitfalls and lessons learned as to why organizations often fail in their journey to create trust in digitalization. In addition, he will also shed some light on best practices that organizations can use to develop information systems that are more likely to comply with legal requirements and can betrusted by their users and stake holders.
After completing this session, participants will be able to:
  – Explain some examples of why digital trust is important based on ethical misconduct in real-world cases.
  – Spot ethical issues, identify risks and understand legal requirements related to the usage of artificial intelligence.

O predavatelju/About the lecturer:
Koen De Maere is an accomplished practitioner, consultant, and academic with xtensive experience in the fields of IT governance, digital transformation, and innovation management. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors at ISACA Belgium Chapter, as a Counsel Compliance and Data Protection at BASF, and is also a visiting researcher in Information Technology Governance at the department of Management Information Systems of the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Antwerp and a visiting researcher at the competence center Digital Innovation at Antwerp Management School.
Koen is a sought-after speaker at national and international conferences and is passionate about teaching Data Science and related ethical concerns. His research interests lie at the intersection between Business and IT, IT leadership, and strategic management.
